Paul Connor | President/Owner
Paul Connor comes to Intellicom with 25 years of IT experience working for industry leaders like EDS, Oracle, and Cisco Systems. He has an extensive background in end-to-end IT solutions, with a specific focus on infrastructure.
He has driven the requirements, design and construction of data centers in Silicon Valley, Research Triangle Park, Amsterdam and Sydney, AU.
Leveraging his datacenter experience, Paul was selected to start up a new business for Cisco providing disaster recovery services to customers. In this role, he was accountable for business development, delivery and overall profitability and revenue.
His experience in this area led him to Cisco’s Professional Services – where he worked with business leaders on strategy and solutions for pipeline management, resourcing, financial management of projects, delivery management, and overall customer satisfaction.
This breadth of experience allows Paul to engage across multiple levels with companies to help them understand how Intellicom can help meet their business needs.
Paul has BS in Information Management from Brigham Young University’s Marriot School of Management and an MS in Technology Management from Pepperdine University’s Graziado School of Management.
Mark Vaughan | Founder
Mark Vaughan is the founder of Intellicom - starting the company in 1999. He started the company with a relentless focus on quality service and attention to detail His leadership ingrained this into the company culture and is critical to Intellicom's value to its customers.
Mark has been a key player in the Research Triangle Park telecommunications infrastructure industry for over 25 years, cultivating relationships with construction, technology and business leaders throughout the area.
At Intellicom, Mark grew a leading team - focusing on technical and leadership skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction. As a leader, he has prioritized teamwork and employee development across the company.
Mark has focused his energy in this highly competitive market on prompt service with attention to detail - and has instilled this into Intellicom's DNA.
Mark's ongoing priorities include managing key associations and relationships to expand Intellicom's value and presence across the Southeast, as well as providing strategic guidance to the overall Intellicom leadership team.
Adam Byrne, RCDD | VP Sales
Adam comes to Intellicom with over 17 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Starting out in the field as a technician, Adam has extensive experience and expertise in the installation and maintenance of structured cabling infrastructure. In addition, Adam has more than 14 years of experience working for a national distributor of technology products. In this role, Adam partnered with manufacturers to distribute, deliver and install reliable and comprehensive solutions that were tailored to the specific needs of any size facility. Over the years Adam has gained a vast array of product knowledge and design experience due to his diverse roles and well-rounded experiences within the telecommunications industry.
Adam also holds BICSI RCDD certification. Adam has cultivated many special relationships throughout his career. He is professional, attentive to details and creative as he works diligently to meet the specific needs of each individual client.
Michael Bullock | VP Operations
Mike Bullock attended DeVry University of Technology in Atlanta, GA majoring in Electronic Engineering Technology.
With 20 years in the telecommunications industry, Mike’s vast knowledge and ability to manage projects and personnel made him the perfect choice to lead our Operations Department.
While at Intellicom, Mike has helped oversee the technicians working in the field. He has also cultivated some mutually rewarding relationships with such clients as SunTrust Bank, WRAL-TV5, and PBM Graphics.
Mike is also Safety Coordinator for Intellicom.
Rob Clayton | VP Installations
With four years of service to our country in the United States Army as a Cellular Communication Technician, Rob began his employment with Intellicom in mid-2000.
His dedication and perseverance to his projects is a reflection of his outstanding character.
Rob has managed multiple projects simultaneously, many at Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Tanner Duren | Project Engineer
Tanner Duren has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunication industry. Tanner received a certification in Graphic Design from the School of Communication and Arts. As well as a certification in Telecommunications from the North Carolina School of Telecommunications.
At Intellicom, Tanner is responsible for Sales, Project Management, Designing, and Engineering projects using his many years of experience in the field as well as in management to provide customers with cost-effective solutions and profitable projects for the company.
Tanner enjoys working with customers to understand their needs and develop a mutually beneficial relationship. He also enjoys providing guidance for new and veteran technicians in helping them form the vision to plan and prepare for success.
Tanner is a trusted Project Engineer with the Intellicom team.
Jeff Farnham | Sales Representative
Jeff has over 30 years of experience in the sales and marketing efforts of promoting business solutions in a vast array of market segments. He has been in the Communications Infrastructure industry for over ten years. His focus during this time has been in pursuing opportunities where the solutions being presented have involved Structured Cabling, Electronic Security, and Audio Visual requirements.
He has a vast amount of experience in developing project opportunities, client relationships and selling to C-level decision makers. His primary role at Intellicom, Inc. is Business Development in the targeted markets of corporate relocations, Distribution and Warehouse facilities and Healthcare/Bio-Pharma industries.
He is very involved in the business strategies of the Company for the continued efforts for profitable sales growth, market development and identifying new trends and technologies to assist in long-term planning for the Intellicom organization.
Jeff is very active in the business community through the chairing a local business networking group, membership in the North Carolina Technology Association and also volunteers with the First Tee organization of the Carolinas.
Richard Drefke | Security & Data Engineer
Richard has been in the telecommunications industry since 1996 working on small to large cabling projects. During his time in telecommunications, his roles have grown from cabling project manager to design engineer for small startups to large enterprises.
Richards Certifications include BICSI Technician and BICSI RCDD. In 2009 Richard was designated as the NC Alarm System License Designee at a prior company which has led him into the security industry.
Richard works hard to ensure all clients are satisfied and eager to call back with additional work.
Erik Benson | AV Project Manager
Erik Benson has 15 years of experience in commercial audiovisual integration in the Triangle. Before joining the AV world, Erik worked in technical theater and live events production.
At Intellicom, Erik is responsible for audiovisual project management. Erik enjoys using his expertise in systems integration and customer support to ensure sophisticated AV systems are reliable and intuitive to use. Erik loves working closely with his clients to make sure the systems he delivers exceed their expectations. Erik also enjoys working with the data and security divisions of Intellicom to integrate AV into the company’s multifaceted projects.
Erik is a graduate of Duke University and holds a CTS certification from AVIXA. He also holds technical certifications with many commercial AV manufacturers, including Biamp, Crestron, SMART Technologies, Extron, and Allen & Heath.
When not managing projects, Erik enjoys playing music, playing and coaching hockey, and is a board member of the downtown Durham Rotary club.
Scott Carneval | AV Systems Design/Engineer
Don Barefoot | Data & Cell Engineer
Don Barefoot has been a part of the telecommunications business since 1986. In 1996 Barefoot started his own structured cabling company called Basic Cable Works Inc. For 18 years Barefoot worked on projects both large and small with many different types of customers. Building and maintaining relationships with those customers has been an important part of Barefoot’s work ethic.
With over 20 years of experience, Barefoot joined the Intellicom team in 2014 as a Tech/Project Manager out in the field. This year he has been brought into the office to help the sales team with design, management, and cost efficiency as well as developing excellent work relationships with customers.
Barefoot also helps our less experienced field techs to feel as knowledgeable and comfortable with each project so they too can take pride in their work and the work done for all of Intellicom’s customers. As a Project manager, Barefoot works side by side with his field techs to ensure all jobs run as smooth as possible.
Barefoot takes pride in each and every project he works on from start to finish. His cabling projects include Lan systems, Wan, and Data centers. Barefoot also manages Sound Masking, DAS, and AV solutions to help customers receive the best possible service and solutions for their business.
Laura Hudson | Accounting/Financial Manager
Laura is a seasoned professional who joins us with more than twenty-five years of experience managing small businesses. She attended North Carolina State University, majoring in Accounting and Business. Her accounting, job costing, human resources management, and office management experience serve to support our entire management staff to maximize our productivity and growth.
We are excited to have Laura join us as our Accounting and Finance Manager to continue to serve our clients and customers.
Chris Riitano | Purchasing
Chris brings a fresh perspective to Intellicom, having recently graduated from the University of Maine-Orono with a degree in finance.
As our Purchasing Agent, he is implementing a new purchasing format that will control costs, provide efficiency and minimizing inventory waste.
