After many years concentrating our efforts within a 500 mile radius of the Research Triangle Park area of North Carolina, Intellicom has become a company with customers all over the United States and abroad. Nationally, we have had projects in sixteen states. Most recently some of our staff has traveled to Bogor, Indonesia and soon - Seoul, South Korea. To that end we have made some additions, changes and enhancements to our staff, our office location, and our virtual space.
Our former web address, www.intellicomrtp.com, reflected our locally focused customer base. With the adaptations to a growing market, we have chosen to secure and begin using a web address that is more suitable to our business strategy. We can now be found at www.intellicomusa.com. Our staff's email addresses will also reflect this change. They are now johndoe@intellicomusa.com. Please make the changes in your address book and contact lists as necessary. Please note that we have added a new SERVICE REQUEST page to our updated website. If you need work done, fill out this request online completely, submit, and someone will get back with you within 24 hours.
We have a new addition to our staff. Mr. Jack Ritchie will lead our Sales and Business Development activities. Our installation staff will continue to offer our 24/7 availability to provide excellent services. Our long-standing management and office staff will maintain our ability to provide prompt and professional attention to you, our customers.
We are also pleased to announce that effective May 1, 2009, Intellicom has relocated to a new building at 2902 South Miami Boulevard in Durham, NC! We will be holding an Open House in the near future to welcome customers, vendors, and friends to our new facility. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE):
With the emergence and phenomenal growth of the IP-NGN, (IP Next Generation Network), today's businesses are converting to all IP-based applications for cost and security reasons. These applications include IP Telephones (VOIP), IP Security Cameras, IP HVAC and Lighting Controls, IP Card Access and Badge Reader Systems, and Network Storage. IP-based systems are sending significantly more data over the structured cabling system, requiring more bandwidth than ever to support these applications.
10GbE over copper and/or optical fiber are the keys to future networking. Industry recommendations are to employ the use of single mode fiber in a 10GbE backbone environment. If multimode fiber is utilized, it must be 50 micron.
Intellicom is wiring today to accommodate the needs of these and future IP-based applications. We are installing Cat 6 cabling today that will meet the needs of 10GbE and Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications.
We install computer networking, phone wiring, multi-pair trunk cable, coax and optical fiber. Installation includes all cable, jacks, termination, testing and documentation.
